Logos Golf Ministries Golf Day at Falkirk Tryst 2023

Logos Golf Day Falkirk Tryst 2023

Logos Golf Day Falkirk Tryst
on 18th August 2023

It was good to have another Logos Golf Ministries Golf Day at Falkirk Tryst 2023 and even better to have almost 40 attend. Falkirk Tryst has proved to be a welcoming venue and I always enjoy going there.

It was the same format we used at Sandyhills which incorporated a team score and this has always served well in these type of days as it allows everyone to feel as though they can compete. As usual I spent time with each group on the course and offered any help that was asked, but did get the opportunity to let a number of people know what I do with LGMS as some had never heard of it before. At least we had a dry, despite blustery, day and everyone seemed to enjoy the experience.

 Short Talk

At the beginning of the year I felt quite strongly that my Dad should share his story rather than me speaking. My Dad has been through a lot this decade but has come through it stronger than ever and I’m proud of where he is now.
I know he was a bit nervous about speaking, but after we discussed it, we agreed it would be better to do a Q & A rather than him giving a speech.
This worked well and gave him the chance to share the struggles of his faith, life and alcoholism.
One of the main problems we all have is pride and unless we finally give in to God and accept we can’t really do anything worth while without him there will always be stumbling blocks. God wants to help us and if we ask for help with the right heart then we receive it. Everyone listened.

It was a simple but powerful message, and one that relates to real life in a big way. For a long time in the past I felt that I was the one encouraging Dad to move forward but this is not the case anymore.
I know we both encourage one another and meet each week for coffee to discuss life’s issues, but if anything, I feel as though he is the one that supports me more often than not now.

We simply ask for God to provide what we need to share our faith with more individuals who need the encouragement.
These days give us a good platform and how great it would be to eventually do one a month around the country.

There’s a thought.

We keep going in faith,
