Outreach Day at Sandyhills Golf Club

After so much rain this past week it was a blessing to have a decent day for our Outreach Day at Sandyhills Golf Club. With a mix of Christians and non Christians the ratio was about 60/40 with an attendance of 22.

As usual I spoke to each group before they teed off and this allows me to make contact with each individual on the day.
I was making up the numbers in the final group as I was expecting one of my Pro colleagues to join us but sadly he couldn’t make it and it ended up just the 3 of us.

Both myself and my fellow trustee were joined by Kenny from Golf Chaplaincy Scotland and this was a good chance for them to see how our golf days work.
We spoke about how we would like to see golf ministry grow in Scotland and I’m sure working with each other to share the gospel can only enhance any ministry work.

The course stood up well to the amount of rain that week and we all enjoyed our game together. I thought the course was in good shape in spite of the extreme conditions it had to endure with almost a month of dry weather and then a deluge for the best part of a week. Sandyhills can get notoriously dry and fiery but it played the way it should.

After a fine afternoon dinner and our prize giving, I spoke for 10 minutes about just how big and smart God really is. There are so many variations of God but nothing compares to the original, and Jesus confirms this. He saved us in a way we can understand by a loving parent sacrificing himself for his children. How can we not want to know someone like this? 

My fellow Trustee, Ewen, closed with a prayer and there was a strong sense of completion but also a beginning.
I believe we are on the verge of moving forward to share the gospel with many other golfers in Scotland.
Please pray for the people who will help each other to do this and for those who will hear the message and take note.
